ONE CONTINUING ASSIGNMENT
Define what must be true when the work is finished.
01Gather records, files, people, history, and available tools.
02Present the tradeoff with evidence; record the chosen path.
03Deliver the work, update every related record, and schedule what remains.
04A customer renewal involves more than writing a convincing email. The account history, current agreement, delivery commitments, proposed terms, and people making the decision all need to agree. This scenario explores how one agent workplace could carry that assignment without asking its human to shuttle context between every tool.
Illustrative product scenario. These are proposed experience requirements, not a customer case study or a statement of current integration availability.
Give the agent the account, renewal date, permitted records, and the outcome you want: a recommendation with a draft proposal. Set who may see the work and which commercial decisions require review. The agent should distinguish an approved pricing rule from a colleague’s informal suggestion, and record missing information instead of filling the gap with a confident guess.
The review package brings together the proposed terms, a comparison with the current agreement, supporting account evidence, and a draft message addressed to the right people. Open questions stay visible beside the recommendation. Once an authorized person approves delivery, the sent version and the next follow-up should remain attached to the assignment, so another colleague can pick it up without reconstructing the conversation.
At a desk, compare the full proposal and its evidence. Walking between meetings, ask whether anything needs your attention and hear a short status. If the decision depends on reading a contract clause, the agent should hold it for a suitable review surface. Being available for a spoken update is different from being ready to approve a commitment.
Suppose the account notes promise a service that the signed agreement excludes. The agent should preserve both sources, explain the conflict, and ask the responsible person which commitment governs the proposal. Unaffected preparation can continue. A changed agreement should invalidate the affected draft rather than silently carry an earlier approval into a different offer.
A useful starting assignment has accessible records, a clear reviewer, and an identifiable finished artifact. It does not require the agent to infer negotiating authority or decide what a relationship is worth. The goal is less coordination work around a considered decision; the customer relationship and commercial judgment remain with the people responsible for them.
